The aim of the study was to use selected methods of spatial econometrics to assess the degree of accessibility of high schools. The paper presents the changes in the availability in years 2006-2013 in Lower Silesia poviats. The deteriorating situation in the availability of high schools is analyzed against negative changes in the number of young people aged 16-19 years. For this purpose, the incidence index of number of schools/1000 young people aged 16-19 years was analyzed to show which Lower Silesian poviats are endangered by too large decrease in the number of young people. It was calculated with two types of indexes, Florence's and Lorenz's to characterize the distribution and concentration of high schools in Lower Silesia in relation to demographic situation in this area. The proposed analysis can be an indication for educational authorities, it can assist in making the right decisions in terms of the reformed educational system.References
